One of the common household products which has been used in powdered forms and isn’t suitable for consumption, but enhances the tastes of food or drink is cinnamon powder. It also enhances the taste of yogurt, if it is mixed properly with it. It is an unknown but true fact that Ceylonese cinnamon has the ability to lower blood sugar, if consumed properly with low-fat yogurt. Research has shown that if half a teaspoon of cinnamon is consumed per day, it can gradually lower blood sugar level, specifically in case of individuals who have Type 2 Diabetes. A few of the research have also confirmed the fact that cinnamon reduces blood cholesterol levels by reducing cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Therefore, cinnamon has been identified as a form of temporary cure for cholesterol and diabetes.
Since the past, cinnamon has been added to various sweets and cakes to enhance its flavors. Then, again dinner, consume the same quantity and mixture of cinnamon and yogurt. Additionally, while you are on this diet, make sure you consume copious amounts of water and be physically active.
You should remember one thing though – cinnamon hasn’t been proven to be an actual cure for cholesterol, blood sugar and diabetes and thus, no established dose is present. Some studies have presented the fact the ½-1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder is enough for a day while others have suggested that 1-6 grams of cinnamon is the acceptable limit. It should be noted that consuming high doses of cinnamon powder can be quite toxic for the body.
