Food preserved by freezing is healthy and can significantly make life easier for us. But with this method of freezing foods, there are rules that guarantee healthy food preparation, maintaining the same quality, but also saves both time and energy.
1. The freezer should always be full
If you thought that overcrowding freezers use electricity and does not guarantee the quality of freezing, you are wrong. Half empty or empty freezer is much bigger consumer of electricity than you think.
Frozen foods keep the temperature much easier and circulation of cold air in this case is much weaker and thus guarantees savings.
2. Always wrap the food before freezing it
The food that is directly in contact with the ice surface can be damaged and change the structure. To prevent this, always wrap food in plastic bags before freezing.
Also, you can marinate the meat in oil and spices before freezing, so you save its freshness and softness.
3. Freeze food in small portions

4. If you doubt the food’s quality do not freeze it
The food that have expired, which is already frozen and then defrosted, or the one that stood in the warm for too long should not be found in your freezer.
Although very low temperatures preserve the foods, they cannot destroy the bacteria and micro-organisms that have settled on the food.
5. Do not forget to defrost and clean your freezer
Even though it represents a real effort for some, everyone should defrost and clean the freezer. The layers of ice that formed on the walls of the freezer reduce its performance and consume electricity, and layers of ice can keep bacteria and viruses that are caused by foods.
