To be at its best health, your body needs to have a slight degree of alkalinity. The cells of your body, chemical reactions going in inside, and the bacteria in your gut are all cogs in a system to maintain that alkalinity. If your body is acidic, then it isn’t working properly.

Acidity is not just a factor that increases cancer risks. It also causes a variety of problems. As a general rule, a too acidic body is a condition called acidosis.

Acidosis can spark problems such as brittle bones, joint pain, obesity, high blood pressure, inflammation, mood swings, and chronic fatigue.

Check Your Body’s pH Balance

Fortunately, checking your body’s pH can be easily done. All you need are pH strips, which you can buy at any pharmacy.

It’s preferable if you test your body’s pH throughout the day. You’re going to be using this on your urine. Try to measure as early as possible during the day, where the goal is to check if your pH is between 6.5 and 7.5.

Your saliva’s pH should be the same as your urine. You’ll need to wait for a minimum of 2 hours before eating, if you want to gauge your saliva’s pH. Simply fill your moth saliva and follow it before measuring. Keep repeating this until your body is clear of food, where you should then place pH strip gently on your saliva.

You don’t have to completely stop your diet to get an alkaline body. Simply ensure that 70% of the food you eat is alkaline. Also, you have to take into consideration that stress messes with your pH levels. Deep breathing will be necessary here, in addition to eating a lot of vegetables, plus adequate water consumption.
