Most of us cook rice every day. But we don’t know the health benefits of the water in which the rice has been cooked. It is very healthy and nutritious to drink that water.

Preparation:

Take a pot of clean water and boil the rice in it. Once it is cooked, strain the water. Make sure there are no grains of rice in it. You can now consume that water.

Preventing dehydration

Rice water prevents dehydration by preventing loss of nutrients.  During the day we lose lot water due to sweating. Rice water helps in replenishing the lost nutrients.

Preventing constipation

The starch in the rice helps in the growth of good bacteria of our stomach. This leads to easy bowel movement, thus preventing constipation.

Prevent diarrhea

Young children and adults are prone to diarrhea. Rice water helps in controlling diarrhea. It especially helps newborns and infants. Too much diarrhea can lead to dehydration, which can also be prevented by consuming rice water.

Provides energy

Rice water is a rich source of carbohydrates and it provides us with energy. You can either drink it early morning everyday or when you feel tired any time during the day.

Helps during viral infection:  Since rice water helps in replenishing nutrients in our body, it is often given during fever due to viral infection. It prevents dehydration and helps is faster recovery.

Fights Alzheimer

Rice water is known to fight off Alzheimer’s disease upon regular consumption. Though it is not confirmed, it is believed to have such properties.

Fights cancer

Another advantage of drinking cooked rice water is of fighting the risk of developing some kind of cancers.

Sun protection

The oryzanol in the rice protects our skin from the UV rays of the sun. use rice water regularly to protect yourself from the damaging effect of the sun.
